Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files a site saves in your browser. This policy explains which cookies we use, what they do, and how you control each category.

Last updated: July 14, 2026

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that a site places on your browser when you visit a page. They let the site remember information about your visit, which can make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.

There are first-party cookies (set by the site you're visiting) and third-party cookies (set by other domains whose content the site loads, such as Google Analytics or advertising pixels).

Beyond cookies, we use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixels and local storage identifiers. For the purposes of this policy, all of these technologies are referred to as "cookies."

2. Categories we use

2.1. Essential (always active)

Required for the site to function. They cannot be disabled because basic navigation and security would be compromised without them. Examples: session cookie, consent-preference cookie (to remember your choice in the banner), fraud protection.

2.2. Analytics (with your consent)

Collect aggregated information about how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on page, traffic source). They help us understand what works and what needs to improve. Data is aggregated and does not identify you individually.

2.3. Marketing and remarketing (with your consent)

Allow us to recognize you across advertising campaigns and personalize messages that may be more relevant to you. If you visit our site and later see a Próximo Passo ad elsewhere, it's because of these cookies.

3. Detailed cookie list

3.1. Essential cookies

CookieSourcePurposeDuration
pp_consent_v1 Próximo Passo (first party) Stores your consent preferences so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit. 12 months
PHPSESSID Próximo Passo (first party) Identifies your session while browsing. Required for the site to function. Session

3.2. Analytics cookies (opt-in)

CookieSourcePurposeDuration
_gaGoogle Analytics (third party)Distinguishes unique users for aggregated analysis.2 years
_ga_*Google Analytics (third party)Persists session state for Google Analytics 4.2 years
_gidGoogle Analytics (third party)Distinguishes unique users for 24 hours.24 hours

3.3. Marketing and remarketing cookies (opt-in)

CookieSourcePurposeDuration
_gcl_auGoogle Ads (third party)Conversion attribution and campaign optimization.90 days
IDEGoogle DoubleClick (third party)Remarketing and ad effectiveness measurement.13 months
_fbpMeta Pixel (third party)Attributes visitors to Facebook and Instagram campaigns.90 days
frMeta (third party)Ad delivery and relevance measurement.90 days

The list above reflects the cookies in use as of the date of this policy. Small variations may occur as partners (Google, Meta) update their systems. You always have control through the banner or the floating preferences button.

4. Google Consent Mode v2

We implement Google Consent Mode v2, Google's technical standard for respecting visitor choice. In practice:

  • Before any Google tag loads, the system marks all optional categories as denied by default.
  • If you accept, the state updates to granted and analytics/marketing cookies begin operating normally.
  • If you decline, Google still receives aggregated, anonymous signals (pings without identifiers) for statistical modeling, but no cookie is set and no personal information is collected.

5. How to manage your preferences

You can manage your consent at any time in three ways:

  • Initial banner: appears on your first visit, with "Accept all," "Reject optional" and "Customize" options.
  • Floating preferences button: in the bottom corner of every page after your first decision. Click it to reopen the panel.
  • Browser settings: lets you block or delete cookies (see section 6).

Your preferences are stored for 12 months. After that, the banner appears again so you can review your choice.

6. Browser settings

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Opera

Important: blocking essential cookies in your browser can break basic site functionality. We recommend using Próximo Passo's preferences panel instead, which keeps essentials active and lets you manage optional categories only.

7. Impact of declining cookies

If you decline analytics cookies

Browsing continues normally. We won't be able to measure aggregated site usage, which limits our ability to improve content and experience.

If you decline marketing cookies

Browsing continues normally. You may still see Próximo Passo ads on other sites and platforms, but they won't be personalized based on your visit.

If you decline essential cookies

This isn't possible through our panel (they're required). If you block them in your browser, the site may behave unexpectedly.

8. Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the cookies we use, new partners, or regulatory changes. The "last updated" date is always shown at the top. For material changes, the banner will reappear to request renewed consent.

Customize consent

Some categories are essential for the site to work and can't be turned off. The rest depend on your consent. Learn more in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Essential

Required for navigation, security and basic functionality. The site can't operate without them.

Analytics

We learn what you prioritize to organize the site around it. Relevant content closer at hand, fewer clicks to reach what matters. Aggregated data, without identifying you.

Marketing and remarketing

Lets us show you offers, terms and content aligned with what you're looking for, now and in the future. More useful, less generic ads, with the right price and opportunity for you.
